Music Lessons
Summer School

Music and movement activities are perfect for children. Music immerses the child in language, evokes movement, stimulates the brain and foster physical coordination; all in a group setting that builds community – a truly holistic experience.

We help young children develop a love for Music and the skills to play it through a series of fun filled age appropriate activities. It is never too early to learn another language by means of Music. Whether your child is a toddler or is going to school, we have a program available for every age.

SOUND OF MUSIC (2-4 YEARS)

The Sound of music sessions are held weekly where the children enjoy 45 minutes of interactive musical experience with a parent, grand-parent or care giver.

From the time the session begins until the closing song, it is a journey through upbeat and mellow movements, signature and rhythmic rhymes. Children and grownups play musical instruments and dance with props including the parachutes, ribbons and scarves.

Sound of music sessions are highly educational, rich with joy and provides a beautiful bonding experience between the child and the parent/grand-parent or care giver never to be forgotten.

KINDERGARTEN LESSONS FOR MUSIC & MOVEMENT (2-4 YEARS)

Weekly kindergarten classes are 30-45 minutes long and include an artistically conceived flow of songs, nursery rhymes, finger-plays, and movement activities. The combination and types of activities support children’s developing competence in tonality and rhythm. In addition, activities evolve from the child’s world and include vocal play, animal sounds, rhythm play, language play, and a good bit of genuine, silly fun. Our kindergarten music & movement classes aim to help develop children’s language skills in English. Props and puppets are used to stimulate children’s imaginations and create a playful atmosphere.

MUSICAL JOURNEY (4-6 YEARS)

The musical journey is held weekly where the children enjoy 45 minutes of interactive musical experience.

These weekly classes are action-filled for toddlers, getting them full of energy, making them explore and learn the language by means of music. Children sing, chant, move, dance, listen, and play. We introduce simple instruments and activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement through fun-filled semester program.

Each lesson features movement activities for coordination, body awareness and control, exploration of space, and instruments such as rhythm sticks, jingles, rattles, drums and resonator bars.

RAISING ENGLISH SUMMER SCHOOL

Long Summer Holiday is about to arrive. Now even if you’re the kind of parent who loves nothing more than a session of Lego or to be involved elbow-deep in arts and crafts with your children, at some stage in the next 2 months the words “Summer School” will be appealing to all concerned.

To give you a hand with off-loading those little ones, we’ve rounded up some of the best holiday activities to keep your children creatively engaged.

Raising English’s summer camp program gives children the opportunity to leave the home atmosphere and enjoy the activities while learning English and having fun during the summer holiday.

SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM

INFANTS (2-6 years of age)

– Nursery Rhyme time (2-5 YEARS): 1 hrs every day (Time and schedule TBD)

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Come one and all and enjoy Music & Movement lessons with enjoyable nursery rhymes! Meet Humpty Dumpty as he sits on the wall. Come help Incy-Wincy Spider climb up the water spout. Be careful he doesn’t scare you away like Miss Muffet on her tuffet!

Have you ever wondered how the Old Woman lived in a shoe? Well here’s your chance to find out and explore your other favourite nursery rhymes such as “Rain Rain, go away” and “Jack and Jill”. They are all part of our Drama Adventure in Nursery Rhyme time. During this exciting program, children will be introduced to speech and sound-work skills, interaction and drama.

Your children will also have the opportunity to show you what they have learnt during our short sharing session on the last day of the programme.

– Teddy Bear Adventures (4-6 YEARS): 2 hrs every day (Time and schedule TBD)

Bear lovers, join us on our Teddy Bear Adventures where a new exciting adventure unfolds every day as we meet different characters such as The Three Bears from Goldilocks and Rupert the Bear. Then pack your picnic bags as we accompany the bears on a Teddy Bear’s Picnic. For the more adventurous and brave of heart, we will be going on a “Bear Hunt” too!

During this fun-filled programme, children will be introduces to and involved in, articulation of speech, voice projection and drama. A sharing session will be held on the final day where children will have the opportunity to showcase what they have learnt.

– Art Boot Camp (2-4 years & 4-6 years) (Time & Schedule TBD)

From Castle to Dungeons…carriages to sports cars, mystical landscapes, still life compositions or abstract interpretations; every child will get to create his/her innumerable own models and paintings according to his/her perspective! Children will also learn about and delve into a myriad of exciting concepts, like that of the centre of gravity, perspective, and colour theory (a frequently re-visited theme) – just to name a few. All facilitated in an environment filled with an infectious light-hearted spirit of FUN of course!

– Master Chef Program (4-6 YEARS) 2-3 hrs everyday (Time and schedule TBD)

Baking and cooking classes can be enriching for kids. The kitchen is where children can learn about measurement, cause and effect, follow instruction while improving on their motor skills & English language skills at the same time. It is also a valuable life skill. While this is a great activity to try out at home, it’s always good to let the kids learn from the professionals and improve their confidence and skills while boosting their creativity.

Aim of Master Chef Program

1. Children learn about the food pyramid

2. They learn about a balanced diet

3. They learn different creative recipes

4. At the last day of the lesson, parents are invited to taste a meal prepared by their child.

5. The whole program is in English. While learning the art of cooking children are learning English in a passive way.

YOUNG LEARNERS (7-13 years of age)

– Master Chef Program (7-10 YEARS) 2-3 hrs everyday (Time and schedule TBD)
